Opengate Story

Opengate offers a tri-modal approach to the care of people with developmental disabilities. This consists of pharmacological, behavioral, and psychotherapeutic analyses. The program for each person served is created and reviewed by an interdisciplinary team composed of our medical director, behavioral analyst, psychologist, social worker, qualified mental health professional, speech therapist, nurse and dietitian. Each program is periodically reviewed to assess effectiveness. Opengate is widely known for accepting persons with dual-diagnoses requiring special interventions.

Opengate incorporates positive approaches to behavioral change. Staff members focus and instruct persons served on specific pro-social behaviors, such as self-control, stress management, social skills, language and communication, academic studies, self-protection, relationship training, pre-vocational training and recreation.
