Opengate offers individualized programs consisting of a variety supports include life skills, language and communication, recreation, socialization and pre-academic training.  We incorporate positive approaches to behavioral change and individuals receive continuous feedback on their progress.

At Opengate an emphasis is placed on developing individual skills that will increase their access to the community and enhance their independence.  We provide on-site day programs, opportunities for placement in off-site sheltered workshops as well as off-site employment with private industry.

Day Habilitation

Our Day Habilitation program is community based, offering excursions, volunteer opportunities,  and group.  Our centralized location allows our 75 participants to come from Opengate homes, as well as those from other agencies and some who live at home with their families throughout Westchester County.  The site is the hub for external events at local entertainment and recreational venues and volunteer opportunities.  On site, computer training, personal fitness and art and entertainment are provided.  Disabled adults with a variety of individualized strengths and needs including, but not limited to, those on the Autism Spectrum and those needing behavioral support to reach their full potential have a positive and productive program day.
